Medical Aesthetics

How are wrinkles formed?

Facial lines develop gradually as a result of several natural processes occurring within the skin and underlying structures. Repeated facial expressions such as smiling, frowning and squinting create movement patterns that, over time, can influence how the skin folds and rests. These are often referred to as dynamic lines.

As we age, changes in collagen production, skin elasticity, hydration and structural support contribute to the visibility of these lines. What may initially appear only during movement can become more noticeable at rest as the skin’s resilience evolves. Environmental factors such as sun exposure, lifestyle and genetics also play a role in how and when these changes occur.

At Bespoke, we take a comprehensive approach to facial assessment. During consultation, we evaluate skin quality, muscle activity, facial proportions and overall balance to understand your individual anatomy and concerns. From this, a personalised management plan is developed, with all options discussed following clinical assessment and suitability review.

Our philosophy is centred around preserving natural expression and supporting skin longevity, with outcomes designed to feel refined, balanced and harmonious.

Volume loss as we age

Facial shape and contour naturally evolve over time. Changes in skin quality, bone structure, soft tissue support and fat distribution can influence facial balance and the way light reflects across the face.

At Bespoke, we approach facial structure with careful consideration of proportion, symmetry and harmony. During consultation, we conduct a comprehensive assessment of your facial anatomy, movement patterns and overall balance to understand your individual concerns.

Rather than focusing on isolated areas, we consider the face as a whole. Our philosophy centres on subtle refinement, respecting natural features while supporting structural balance in a way that feels authentic and harmonious.

All management options are discussed following clinical assessment and suitability review. A personalised plan is developed based on your anatomy, goals and long-term skin health.

We prioritise safety, thorough consultation and informed decision-making. Your practitioner will take the time to understand your concerns, explain appropriate options and discuss potential risks before any treatment is considered.

Distribution of body fat

The distribution of body fat is influenced by genetics, lifestyle and natural physiological changes over time. While weight fluctuations can affect the size of fat cells, certain areas may remain resistant to diet and exercise. By the time we become an adult, we accumulate a certain number of fat cells. As we gain weight, the fat cells expand and as we loose weight they shrink, however, the number of fat cells in an area remains the same.

Skin Rejuvenation

As the most visible layer of the face, the skin reflects both intrinsic ageing processes and external influences such as sun exposure, lifestyle and environmental stressors. Over time, changes in hydration, collagen support and skin resilience may contribute to the appearance of fine lines, uneven tone and altered texture.

At Bespoke, we take a comprehensive approach to skin health. During consultation, we assess skin integrity, hydration levels, elasticity and overall quality to better understand your individual concerns.

Where appropriate, we may discuss options designed to support skin function, hydration and overall skin quality. All recommendations are made following clinical assessment and suitability review, with a personalised plan developed to align with your goals and long-term skin health.

Our philosophy centres on maintaining natural expression and strengthening the foundation of the skin, supporting a refined and healthy appearance over time.
